I use AndroidTV as my source extensively. I know I can cast to it from the Android app but I was wondering if there’s an AndroidTV native app in the works.

No, it would not bring much over an installed Kodi.
With that said, if compose matures for Android TV enough, adding support for it in the future may be possible. But it’s not a goal by itself.
I’d love a version that will run on my nvidia shield, too!
