My metadata: False release date from Internet. I want my metadata back

Issue description

I have another issue I’d like to raise as well.

I carefully tag all my files manually — including things like the release year — but Symfonium appears to be overriding my tags with data fetched from the internet. For example, in the case of a remastered album, it forces the remaster’s release date (which can be 30 years later than the original) onto the album instead of respecting the year I’ve set in the tags. Similarly, it appends additional information to album titles — such as edition or release type details — which I don’t want at all.

I’d like to keep my own metadata intact, exactly as I’ve tagged it, with no modifications from any online source. I’ve looked through the settings but I cannot find a way to permanently disable this behaviour.

Is there a setting to turn this off completely? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Log upload name / description

False year date

  1. You have no uploaded any logs despite checking the box …
  2. There’s is no metadata downloaded from Internet, it’s all from your tags …

This is not metadata. In my tags year is 1985 and I have not the text 30th annyversary edition.

And yet I’m ready to bet 10 million dollar that those information are actually in the tags …

Upload the file to https://upload.symfonium.app and I’ll show you since you know better.

For the year if you do not understand the other tags, you can change the provider settings to prefer the year tag.

Yes, in the deep tags there are some other infos, which I’m not able to delete. But why are they displayed although I don’t want it?

Because if the data is there people usually want to use it ?

Settings/Interface/Album page and change what you want.

It is there not possible to delete the information, for example 30th annyversary edition from the A-ha album. but whatever…

Use any tagging software to remove the tags you don’t want to see.
