EDITED 04-19-25
• Changed Images to present cleaner displays & showcase new additions
• Changed / Added click actions to the strings that appear below the album art
• New Hourglass Icon to indicate album arts that are edited / custom made
• New CD icon to indicate CD-Ripped Tracks
• New custom strings to replace “Unknown” Format info prior to starting playback
• Progress bar “Format” info is customized to force bitrate to always appear at the far right & to shorten some codecs.
Ex: “OGG/OPUS” → “OPUS” • “WAV/PCM” → “WAV” • “MP4/AAC” → “MP4”
This was done to make room on my small display for other indicators (icons / strings)
Namely: Media Source & Quality Indicators
• Temporary “i” icon to indicate high-bitrate tracks (i’m switching this to another icon / string, just haven’t settled on the right one yet… a Y/N on a current feature request will impact my decision)
• Added txt document with all custom strings used
I forgot I changed the shuffle icon color…in the NPS file it will match the color of the repeat, next & previous buttons I’m far too lazy to re-edit all these images now
Admittedly my setup is fairly basic, sort of just covers the main bases. I’ve gone for a more adaptive setup which is a bit less static. It shows me additional or varied info when needed.
A Few things to note:
Some Context
• I’m using the BPM tag to display alternate info “E Score” which is a tally or count of explicit words within the lyrics a custom tag I designed in MP3TAG
• My rating tags are not reflections of how much I like a song. I’m using them like GTA // NFS Heat levels, Higher E-Score = More Stars. The Idea for a more adaptive setup was greatly influenced by the thought “what do I show when there is No heat level?” from there I sort of spiraled…
• This setups utilizes custom strings, conditionals & spacing options made available in V12.2.0 & V12.3.0
• Many of my strings are based on custom tags that I use so this may not necessarily be a setup that is plug & play for everyone but the idea behind it may inspire you to display other / similar info
• Custom(Non-standard) Characters Used:

Summary: Set 1 ↑
IMG 1:
Standard Explicit Track with the Bottom bar showing multiple languages as this track is not just in English
IMG 2:
Standard Instrumental (Still Shows Explicit Score but the track is not “Explicit”) I embed lyrics to instrumentals as well for potential Karaoke sessions
IMG 3:
TYPE BEAT Instrumental (These are beats made in the style of a specific artist or artists, sort of saying “this is the type of beat J. Cole would be on”)
Summary: Sets 2 & 2.5 ↑↓
Directly Above & below are Various types of Original Soundtracks & Scores.
MP is for “Motion Pictures” (Animated Film / TV, I just wanted something less wordy)
Not all these files are fully tagged but you’ll notice the bottom bar again shows Languages for tracks with languages other than English.
You can also see two of the images have the white hourglass icon which indicates the album arts are edited. In the case of the Spider-man album this is a color shift & the NFS album I opted to use the game cover & added the custom text & EA logo at the bottom. Nothing against the original art I just liked my version too. I often embed original covers as back covers when I make edits.
I wanted to prioritize showing languages over Style / mood when applicable.
Summary: Set 3 ↑
IMG 1 & 2:
In these first two Images I have a few extra labels displayed (for me these are track tags)
The middle image has a solid Hourglass icon which for me indicates the album art is fully custom
IMG 3:
In the last image I have a track that has No “E-Score” but the track is still explicit. This scenario usually happens for 1 of two reasons
- I am missing lyrics (can’t tally up the trigger words when I don’t have them
- I’ve tagged the track as explicit not for profanity, but for its content or topic(s)
Summary: Set 4 ↑
IMG 1:
Non-English, “Neutral” Categorized Track
IMG 2:
Track with extra Label & hourglass icon to indicate the art is edited (in this case this is a re-creation of the Youtube thumbnail
IMG 3:
Track Categorized as Religious, it also includes a small icon which lets me know this is a CD Rip
I had some fun here, embracing the brief moment where Symfonium does not display the Format info until playback begins. To “randomize” the displayed string I based the formula off the year
I Happen to have Symfonium on my PC so I like to play music on one of my smaller monitors
More on how I did that HERE
I removed the control bar buttons in landscape as my keyboard has most of those functions, this freed up some space to add the album & year, to shuffle or repeat I just open the queue. In Portrait My display has the extra space so I left the control buttons & opted to make text larger & play with spacing:

HERE is a txt file with all my custom strings.
In the document they are broken down
line
by
line
To use the full string you’d need to delete each “new line” so that the full string is one super long line of text.
I figured it’s far easier to understand each singular line than a full CVS Receipt all at once, plus this way you can nab out specific lines you may want to use in your own setup & not deal with the rest.
