Multiple artists support (separator by symbol) and ability to edit metadata

Feature description:

Basically this feature is about supporting multiple artists metadata by recognizing the symbol separator for each artist involved in a song, by default the artist names are separated by (& , and users can add as much symbols as they like. Users will also have the option to select the primary artist when they go to the artist page from the “Now Playing” screen.

The ability to edit metadata directly in the track without needing another application, not limited to track title, cover art, artist name, album artist, year, etc. this also includes editing the song lyrics. Which basically allows the application to modify audio files and embed lyrics into it, synced or not synced.

I propose this feature mainly for local music library.

Problem solved:

A song with two or more artists creates another artist page in the “All artists” page, especially if, let’s say, you have a lot of songs from the primary artist and that artist has collaborated with so many artists, it piles up the “All artists” page, making it so tedious to scroll through.

Some metadata for multiple artist songs can separate artist names by these common symbols: (& ; ,), and the inability to edit metadata directly into the player creates extra hassle for organizing the library, plus most third-party metadata editors do not always directly make a change or update of the metadata to the music players.

Brought benefits:

The number one benefit is more convenience and less hassle, especially for those who have a very large music library. This includes neatness and a better organized music library, and makes browsing for music much easier.

Other application solutions:

Other applications definitely solved this for me; I would not have to scroll through the long lines of the same primary artist just because they collaborated with other artists. Another benefit is better navigation to the specific artist page. For example, if a song has my favorite artist collaborating with another artist, I set the artist page navigation from the “Now Playing” screen to the primary artist. That way, I do not have to be redirected to the separate artist page where it’s named after the two artists, and only see the song they worked on. Suppose I want to play another song from the same artist who was the primary artist of that collaborative song. In that case, I can just go directly to the primary artist page even if the song was between multiple artists.

As for metadata editing. For example, when I only needed to make subtle edits to the song metadata, I just had to edit it right away within a second in the music player without having to quit the app, and it updates the edit to the song immediately within a second.

Please use the search function as the wizard mandate.

You can already configure all the separators you want in the provider settings. And there won’t be tag editing for reasons explained over and over.
