Issue description:
Hello, I am experiencing a consistent 5-10 second delay before playback starts, but this only happens with Hi-Res FLAC files. Standard MP3s play 1-2 sec.
Environment:
- App Version: Latest
- Device: Google Pixel 7
- Android Version: Android 16
- Server: Navidrome
- Network: Local 5GHz Wi-Fi (Excellent signal), Server is on Gigabit LAN. Bandwidth is definitely not an issue.
The Issue:
- MP3 (320kbps): takes about 1-2 sec
- FLAC (24bit / 96kHz, ~3300 kbps): Takes about 5-10 seconds of buffering/loading before audio starts.
Troubleshooting steps taken:
- Direct Play confirmed: I checked the Navidrome dashboard during the delay. No transcoding is happening on the server side.
- Comparison: The same FLAC file plays instantly via “Feishin” client on the same network.
I have attached the debug logs where I reproduced the issue with a Hi-Res FLAC file. Could you please help me understand what causes this delay?
