Local music stops playing after disconnecting from uPnP

Issue description:

When I leave the house, I typically turn off the UPnP renderer to the amplifier and jump in the car to start driving. The device will typically start playing the song and sometimes stops playing after 2 minutes, where the play button starts spinning as if the cache ran out of data. All files are local so this shouldn’t happen.

Additional information:

Killing the app and restarting it does resume the track without an issue.
Capturing the issue has been challenging because it does not happen every time.

Reproduction steps:

Play music over UPnP, stop music over UPnP, play music in the car, music hangs midway through the song

Media provider:

Local device

If you do not have playback cache then yes the currently loaded media will keep trying to play as it was prepared, so via the cast web server for casting. Wifi disconnect the IP no more exists the connection no more works.

You can just skip next to workaround.

I do not have the playback cache turn on given it’s local media. I do turn off the UPnP and I can play the song locally on the phone speakers before getting in the car no problem. Then I get in the car so the music starts playing in the speakers for 2-3 minutes, to it eventually stops while I’m driving. Hitting next then does work, thanks.

The issue hasn’t been happening as much recently so I’ll keep monitoring.

Would the new UPnP renderer setting set to “Stop casting when external changes are detected” help?

No it’s unrelated to this.
