Integrate Last.fm’s recommended tracks API into Symfonium’s Smart queue/Smart flow. When the current queue ends, the app fetches personalized song recommendations from Last.fm (based on the user’s listening habits) and continues playback seamlessly. Additionally, this integration could allow importing Last.fm curated playlists.
Problem solved:
Current infinite playback relies on server-side sonic analysis, which is a subscription feature of Plex AMP. This leads to random and less relevant suggestions.
I love pretty much everything about Symfonium, but I still find myself gravitating back to Spotify because of it’s algorithm.
Brought benefits:
Delivers Spotify-like intelligent autoplay without requiring server-side analysis
Keeps users engaged with familiar and relevant tracks
Enhances music discovery
Leverages existing Last.fm profiles and listening data
Makes Symfonium a stronger standalone alternative to algorithm based streaming apps
Long time last.fm user (over 20 years!) - I agree, the data and recommendations available are seriously slept on. Bringing that in to Symfonoum in a generalized way (such as Similar Artists) or a personalized way such as Recommendations would do a lot!
Symfonium os far and away the best music app I have used. Have supported and will pay specifically for this feature to be explored if it is possible
I use MusicBee as a media player on the desktop.
This function with Last.fm has been integrated there for years and I have been using it regularly ever since. Very convenient.
There are various customization options. @Tolriq should take a look at this.
I would also very much welcome that.
Very good FR.
I would love to see “similar artists” added to the artist page. May or may not be something to be implemented in symfonium by itself, may also need support from server.
I’ve been wondering about this as well, though just from the Jellyfin server. Jellyfin shows Related Artists on the artist page, so does the Feishin Jellyfin client. Wondering if this could be added to Symfonium?
