Kef LSX ii LT casting problem

Issue description:

I’m streaming from a Synology NAS. My phine is a Pixel 6A and the problem only occurs with the Kef speakers.

I can connect to my speakers using cast but no music actually plays. If I go into the Kef app, it shows the song I’m trying to play but it doesn’t actually play.

As a separate issue, the Kef UPNP from Symfonium gives me a file error, but I wouln’t normally use upnp anyway.

I used Symfonium on a Cambridge Audio streamer that I had before with the same wifi set-up and that worked fine.

Any ideas?

I’ve rebooted everything that’s part of the streaming chain.

Symfonium casts fine to other Chromecast targets in my flat. For example, I can cast to the TV that’s connected to my Kef speakers.

I have a pihole on my network but I’ve tried turning this off and I still have the casting problem so I don’t think it’s connected to that.

Reproduction steps:

 
When I press choose the Kef to cast to in the app, the connection is made and the Kef makes a a sound to show there’s a new connection.

The music I choose never starts to play though. I can cast to other devices and play the music on my phone. There’s only a problem when using the Kef.

The second screenshot shows what I can see in the Kef Connect app. It displays the chosen track but doesn’t show track length or start to play.

There’s no attempt to play on upnp in those logs.

For the Chromecast part, the Kef device accept the play and start loading then fails. So it’s a communication issue between kef and Plex.

You can enable Symfonium proxy in the cast device settings to workaround and see if it works.

Bought the app now.

Well this is still a workaround for a network issue between Plex and Kef.

It will use battery to have Symfonium proxy the media content, so you should still try to find out what is happening.

I did a factory reset on the Kef and that’s fixed the Chromecast and UPNP problem.
