Well, I’m a happy camper, will likely purchase the full version of Symfonium soon. I came here by way of a WiiM forums users because I’ve been active over there since I purchased their WiiM Ultra. I wanted a better way to stream my local music library instead of connecting my iPad to the Ultra via BT and running MusicStreamer. Well, I’m here now and I’m doing the same thing but w/o the extra “unwanted” layer of BT via Symfonium and love what I’ve experienced so far.
For media provider I first tried Plex Server, and then Emby as it was recommended over Plex, but I’m not finding any noticeable reasons to pick one over the other. Right now I’m sticking with Plex.
I am in need to dig and discover more on the following two areas:
- User documentation for Symfonium is here (Wiki/Docs), but IDK, it seems to not follow the order of user operations when first installing, configuring, and using Symfonium. Right now I’m mostly lost with all the icons w/o any “hover-over” capabilities in android etc. I’d love a screen recorded user tutorial if at all available.
- I definitely need to normalize/rationalize my music library more so now than when I used MusicStreamer. It seems MusicStreamer really just cut to the chase of displaying album/artist and it just sort of worked for me. Not to mention the larger iPad screen is a bonus. But now with Symfonium I think I’m hurting because my libary is very messy and unorganized.
I’m starting to dig some figuring that there must be some sort of application out there that can dedupe, organize, rename structure of album folders and tracks into a more standard/convention.
So far beets seem pretty powerful but due to it’s native Linux runtime and a lot of manual crawl stops asking for user input I might skip that. Then there’s PerfectTunes, but that’s a pretty expensive program w/o any trial.
Any recommendation on an app/program that can (fully and automatically) do this as I feel it’s foundational to better experience with any sort of music library streaming platform.
Thank you.
