Incorrect Album play count being displayed

Issue description:

Album play counts are being showed incorrectly for all the albums. I have uploaded the logs under the name: “neil-pixel6-10112025”

The Issue:
For example an album named “HER” by an artist named “MINNIE” is showing total album play count as 6. But, when I individually checked the play count for each track in the album, it adds up to 42. The same issue with all the different albums I have opened till now in the symfonium app.

Does symfonium only track album play count locally(after a fresh installation of the app) and discards the sum of actual play count of all the tracks present in the album?

Album play count is not the sum of track play count this would not make sense. It’s the number of time the album have been played in full.

Could it be a toggleable option, maybe?

I definitely understand and appreciate the logic of counting full plays, but it makes my top played albums list full of singles instead of the actual albums that I’ve listened to the most overall.

Also, I use Navidrome and have it set to use “absolute” play counts, so it’s a bit jarring to have a different play count value, and thus different order when sorting by plays, in Symfonium.

No plans for an option, but you can filter everything everywhere with smart filters, just remove the singles.

That’s true, and would probably work fine for my use case, but I don’t see an obvious way to use filters with the “most played albums” section on the Home page. That just gives me a view without any sorting or filtering options. Have I overlooked something?

Yes you overlook smart playlists that you can pin to home to replace all the default ones

It’s the solution is dozens on posts here.

Ohhh, I didn’t realize they could be pinned to the home page. Sorry! That’s the perfect solution. Thank you so much!

Sum of track plays makes perfect sense to me. The current way heavily favors singles and EPs, and filtering those out with a smart filter would limit how much of your library you can see at one time.

I suppose both ways make sense, but there is definitely a use case for album plays being “sum of track plays”.
