I lost all my playlist when removing my local media provider

Issue description:

I am in extreme distress right now.

My playlists that I’ve spent months creating are all gone because I removed the local media provider. I originally tried to modify the way albums were linked as one had the same name for differents artists.
Some settings were locked out and required me to delete and recreate the local media provider to rechange those settings. But it did not inform me that I would lose all the playlists are they were linked to that media provider. I haven’t created a backup in a while to my dismay and now I have no idea how to recover this data.

I did notice that the local media provider created has a different number lable each time (e.g 2-Local Media Provider, 3-Local Media Provider) so I am wondering if having access to the data of the deleted local media provider would allow me to recover all that was lost.

I have no other options thus I am writing this in the hopes someone could help. Otherwise I’ll have to redo months worth of playlist sorting.

I’m sorry for this support message as I could not create a log for this matter since this happened unexpectedly

If you do not have a backup then no the data is lost sorry.

Is there no way to recover the previous local media provider ? The one where the playlists are linked to ?

Well no it’s deleted and no more present.

Please add a more detailed warning stating that deleting the media provider means losing all data locked within. I have read numerous instances of people losing playlists in similar situations. Considering the time needed to create and add songs to playlists, this should not be allowed to happen this easily.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter

You are the first one to report such problem, so no idea where you read those numerous instances

But yes I’ll add a big red warning …
