I just downloaded the trial version of Symfonium and I’m loving the functionality of it. I’m running into one issue that I can’t seem to resolve. When I go to my list of composers, some of them allow the “shuffle” or “play” function without issue, but others give the “No Playable Media” error message. I’m not sure why this error message would display, considering I’m able to see all the albums and their content when selecting the composer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
The logs does not contain a reproduction of the error.
But usually when it fails to play on artist page it’s because there’s no songs associated with the artists.
Can you show screenshots of the composer page for the working and the non working ones ?
I’ve attached some screenshots of the entire list of composers. Below is a list of the ones that give the “no playable media” error when I attempt to shuffle or play them:
Bad Boy
Circus
Death Row
Def Jam
Devin Oliver
Dim Mak
Dungeon Family
Flipmode Squad
Hillsong Church
Hospital
Jackson Family
Jeremy McKinnon
John Cooper
Mau5
Metalheadz
The Neptunes
Oli Sykes
Ram
Rob Swire
Roc A Fella
Ryan Kirby
So So Def
Solid State
Spinnin’
Tooth & Nail
Vic Fuentes
I’ve confirmed every composer has songs listed when I click on them, so I’m not sure why only some of them won’t play.
Please let me know if you need any other info from me.
So for instance, if I click the 3 dots next to one of the lists that work (Wolfgang Gartner, for example), I’m able to select “Shuffle” and it will shuffle all the songs included under that composer. It then creates a queue with “Wolfgang Gartner” as the title. I very much like this functionality!
But with “Jackson Family” for instance, I can click the 3 dots and select “Shuffle,” but it gives the error message “No Playable Media.” In the attached screenshot, this is what displays if I just select the “Jackson Family” composer heading instead of the 3 dots, so there’s 142 songs with “Jakson Family” as the composer. From that page, I can hit the “Shuffle” button at the top and it will shuffle all the songs, but it creates a queue titled “Song list” instead.
If there’s a better method to organize my music, I’m open to ideas.
I’ve figured out part of the issue here. So the composer lists that give the “No Playable Media” error do so because there’s no artists that match the composer name. This only happens when selecting the 3 dots next to the composer and selecting “Shuffle.”
For instance, any song by a member of the Jackson Family (Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Jackson 5, etc.) has a composer listed as “Jackson Family.” However, there are no artists named “Jackson Family,” so it shows no playable media.
If I go to composers and click on the Jackson Family heading, I’m able to see all media that has “Jackson Family” listed as the composer and I can then shuffle all the songs from there, but again, it creates a queue titled “Song List” instead of “Jackson Family” or something similar. Is there a way to have it automatically title the queue something different? That would solve the issue completely.
