Floating player does not seem to work

Issue description:

i tried:

• toggling the Now Playing Screen > Compact Player > Floating player option
• importing themes from the forum that clearly have a floating now playing screen
• to reinstall the app to reset settings

no effect
floating player just doesn’t seem to work on my device

I’m on a Pixel 4a with LineageOS 22.2-20250619-NIGHTLY-sunfish (based on Android 15) (bought the app via Ko-Fi).

I read through the logs of me toggling the setting, but there seems to be nothing interesting in there.

Let me know if you need any more information.

I installed this theme to test: Spotify Theme + Now Playing style Tidal

According to the screenshots it has a small floating player and no “now playing” button in the navbar.

I wanted to upload a screenshot of the now playing screen, but the upload doesn’t seem to work.
It basically looks like the now playing screenshots from the post above, but with a navigation bar that obfuscates the lower 4 buttons.

i installed symfonium via obtainium from apkpure because i aurora store seems to be broken more often than not

seems like that was a bad idea
