First-class offline music browsing and playing support

Feature description:

I would like to be able to set a default profile and have it persist, and I would like the top level homepage to include a link to the list of artists. Unrelated to this, I would also like to have the option to have the artist inferred from the folder name if the tags don’t exist for it.

Problem solved:

I have a cheap phone plan that doesn’t support much data, so I prefer to cache most of my music to my phone. The way things are currently, I need to click the filter button, click “offline files” or my offline profile I created, then click the Library and navigate to artists.

I would prefer that I could just start using the app right when I open it – browse to artists, find music, and play it

Brought benefits:

This would reduce the number of touches needed to play offline music.

Other application solutions:

In dsub, there is a global online/offline mode. This option persists. If I’m in offline mode, I disconnect from the server and can’t see anything on the server, only my local files. Additionally, if a file doesn’t have tags, dsub infers the artist name at least from the folder name.

Additional description and context:

The filter mechanism already exists in symphonium, it just doesn’t seem to persist.

Thanks for the bad rating BTW

Not sure to understand your issue, the available offline filter is kept unless you use the option for auto offline that will auto toggle it.

You can enable the filter button in all screen in interface settings, you can put the artist tag filter as the first tab and it will start the app on that tab, you can add an artist button on the home page too.

You can do absolutely everything you want and then more.

Sorry, Tolriq - I updated my review to 4 stars and made it less negative; I don’t want to hurt you. Thanks for getting back so quickly; I’ll review your suggestions and make a new ticket if they don’t work

Okay, so I tried your suggestion. I clicked the filter and chose “hide media not available offline”. Then I restarted my phone. When I opened the app again, the filter was turned off. The artist tab added to the view stayed though.

You probably enabled the auto offline option then, without logs and details I can’t really guess what you do.

That was it! Thank you. Updated to 5 stars.
