Hey Tolriq! First of all, I think you’re doing a great job here! Your app is amazing and is what I was looking for.
As a Product Designer and user of your app I’ve noticed that sometimes is very techie-oriented and UI feels noisy, so some things could be improved. During this time I’ve been used it, I missed a lot of times the same things:
Problem solved
- I can’t differentiate between songs and folders: Specially when both have covers and have nested folders + songs on the same parent folder.
- Favourite songs is a pain: I need a lot of taps / clicks to add songs to favorites, but I can’t which of them are my favorites, which would help me a lot when I have a super long list…!
- Adding songs to playlist is hard: I also need a lot of taps / clicks to add a song to a playlist. I know there are a few ways to do it but they always fail to me (no errors or feedback received, just it doesn’t work). I only can do it by clicking on the 3 dots, then select the option to add to a playlist and then the . I was wondering if that could be a more prominent adn easy action to do.
- UI not focused on important info but technical one: Sometimes there is usless information (as a song listener) like the song size and modification timestamp while what I need when listening songs is other more important information like the artist name.
Brought benefits
- Simpler UI
- Interface focused on user actions needed instead of technical info
- Shorten flows and interactions to main actions done
- Important information on the specific moment it’s needed
Other application solutions
- Spotify does something similar for songs (not folders are they only manage playlists)
