Feature description
First of all, thank you for the excellent work on Symfonium. It’s one of the most powerful and flexible music players on the market. I recently discovered it through a consultation with Gemini about a player with specific features for my local music, and I was absolutely blown away when I tried Symfonium. It’s incredible work, and I hope to help make it more widely known.
Feature Description
Add a visual or filterable indicator that allows users to easily identify the media provider source of albums, songs, or artists.
Possible Implementations
A small badge/icon overlay on album covers:
for local files
for cloud providers (Google Drive, Plex,Jellyfin etc.)
Problem solved
Use Case
This feature would resolve data usage issues and improve library organization by distinguishing between music stored locally and music stored on a server. Since adding music doesn’t always remind you which tracks are in the cloud and which are locally, this feature would help create a better library classification system for very large collections of songs.

Additional Note
The visual indicator does not necessarily need to be placed on the album cover itself; it could be implemented in any position that best fits the UI/UX (e.g., corner badge, list icon, secondary label, or optional column in list view).
The main goal of this feature is to help users quickly identify the origin of their media in order to:
- Avoid unintended data usage when playing cloud-based content
- Prevent confusion between local and remote files
- Improve overall awareness of media source in hybrid libraries
Additionally, it would be ideal to make this feature optional (toggle on/off), so users who prefer a cleaner interface without extra indicators can disable it according to their preferences.
Even a minimal implementation (such as exposing the provider as a filterable field) would already provide significant value.
