as the title says, it would be nice to have the filter options available in library views but for home page items. For instance, it would be great to filter out small albums from random albums, recently added albums, etc.

currently a number of items showed on the home page are not relevant. A single track is not a random album.
Brought benefits
same benefit has having filters in the library views. Even more so, as, typically, less items are displayed in rows on the homepage
It takes a few more steps to set up, but this can already be done for everything except Artist lists.
You want to filter small albums out of your Random Albums?
Create Smart Playlist > Albums
Add rule: “Track count” + “is greater than” and then enter your minimum to be considered “not small”
Sort by: Random
Then open the playlist, hit the three-dots menu button, and tap “Add to home page”.
Done. You now have a filtered Random Albums category on your Home page.
Again, you cannot make a filtered “Random Artists” home page entry because we can’t make an Artist-playlist. But any track-/album-based filter should already be achievable.
