DSP sometimes forgets about volume boost on startup

Issue description:

(navidrome, not subsonic)

Hi, I configured “Equalizer/DSP/Volume boost” option to equalize volume between Symponium and Google Maps. Symfonium starts playing when I connect the bluetooth speaker (car), and most times it works correctly, but sometimes the music is too quiet. The workaround I found to fix the volume in such case is to go to the DSP settings and change the volume boost to approximately the same value as it is already. But after such noop change the boost is correctly applied again.

Additional information:

The following is not proved, but it seems that it correlates with when I start navigation in Maps at the same time. However, if that’s relevant, the “short audio focus action” is set to “none”.

P.S. when I’m “fixing” the volume that way, I inevitably change it slightly, just because the slider is so small, and my finger is big, but small changes in boost cause big difference in volume perceived. Please make the slider accept numeric values or e.g. buttons +1/-1

Navidrome is subsonic

Anyway there’s no errors or anything, it’s a system issue that I can’t even detect :frowning:
You can try the advanced option Restart player on device change that sometimes can workaround those kind of issues.

And for precise values just click on the value to have a dialog.

That setting didn’t help ;-(

Today I again started the car and navigation at the same time, and music volume got too quiet; fixed it by changing the boost from 750 to 749 using the newly discovered dialog

Then don’t use volume boost but the full EQ and pregain.
