"Download Favorite Tracks" action (offline cache of starred tracks)

Feature description

Add a “Download favorite tracks” option to the download menu for Subsonic/OpenSubsonic providers (Navidrome etc.), which caches exactly the tracks starred on the server. Ideally also an auto-cache rule keyed to the favorites set, with incremental behavior.

Problem solved

There is currently no way to download exactly my favorite/starred tracks. The favorites-based bulk flow queues all favorites at once (~600+ tracks / tens of GB), and the only alternative is manually rebuilding a playlist copy. Offline workflows for server-side favorites are impractical today.

Brought benefits

  • One-tap offline cache of the favorites set; incremental sync (newly starred tracks get cached, already-cached ones never re-queued, optionally evict un-favorited ones)
  • Works for any Subsonic/OpenSubsonic server without client-side favorites duplication
  • Aligns the offline workflow with how “starred” actually functions server-side

Other application solutions

A per-provider toggle (e.g., “auto-cache new favorites”) would keep the cache in sync without manual re-runs. Smart filters already exist and are respected for playback — extending the same treatment to caching would be consistent.

Duplicate and there’s already an easy solution, just make a smart playlist for is favorite and auto cache enabled on it.
