DLNA renderer (WiiM Pro) intermittently disappears

Issue description:

Symfonium 14.0.0 / Android 13 (TKQ1.221013.002) / Redmi MIUI 14.0.9 / WiiM Pro (4.8.805729)

Issue: DLNA renderer (WiiM Pro) intermittently disappears from Symfonium cast screen. Sometimes reappears after WiiM reboot, then disappears again after hours. BubbleUPnP sees the WiiM Pro at all times, so the issue seems specific to Symfonium and/or Redmi MIUI.

Network setup:

  • Fizz router (Hitron CODA), UPnP enabled
  • Separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (Band Steering disabled)
  • Phone and WiiM both on same 5 GHz network, confirmed same subnet (192.168.0.x)

Already tried:

  • Battery optimization disabled for Symfonium
  • Allowed all permissions in app settings
  • IPv6 disabled on WiiM
  • Static IP set on WiiM
  • Band Steering disabled, SSIDs separated
  • Factory reset WiiM Pro
  • Wi-Fi toggle on phone (off/on)
  • Force stop + clear cache Symfonium
  • Cleanup internal states in Symfonium Advanced settings
  • Reboot and reinstall

BubbleUPnP consistently finds the WiiM Pro as a DLNA renderer while Symfonium does not.

Thanks a lot in advance, love the app!

Nothing answers back to the multicast discovery. Not sure how Bubble can still find the device.

Could this be that BubbleUPnP uses a different discovery method?

This tells me this is probably a MIUI 14 issue, I need to try with another android phone to find out.

I don’t know any other way. Bubble probably always run in the background and listen to events that the devices maybe send like every X minutes as some do.

@Tolriq I’m having a very similar issue. I’ve uploaded logs as “bigmack3000”. One small and one large (sorry).

When I check the wiim app, it sees and is connected to wiim pro, but in synfonium, it can’t be found. Occasionally, it finds the chromecast for it, but not upnp.

The small log is just there incase you can see why the unpnp isn’t being found. Its just me opening the app and checking casting options. The reason I included the much larger log is because after one restart attempt of the wiim pro, symfonium finally picked it up. I played music for awhile, but then the upnp option disappeared from the list again:

However, it continued to stay connected and play music. I then stopped the current playlist, incase it was just cache, played a brand new song. It continued to work as if it was connected. Despite not being an option under casting:

It had been working perfectly for months. I know upnp can be very finicky. I don’t know what’s changed. If it’s something I did, or not.

Thanks! Again, sorry for the larger file. If it had not disappeared during that session, i wouldn’t have uploaded it.

Same answer the device no more answer to ssdp, they probably pushed a bad update or something on your wifi router.

For me my Wiim is still nog visible in the device list. Do I need to change some settings? Or is this still a bug?

Thanks!

I have a WiiM Pro running 4.8.814756 and haven’t experienced any issues with connectivity.

Is your WiiM listed (immediately) in the Android app UPnP Tool?

Yes, instant!

I’ve just dropped back to 14.1.0 and I’m still not seeing any issues, so I can’t think what it can be.

What WiiM model do you have?
You haven’t accidentally hidden it have you?

Found it. It was apparently under the hidden devices. Did not know I ever pushed the hide button. Thanks!
