“16bit” and “16 Bit” are two different music projects.
I have written correctly the artist tag, the album artist tag and also the folder in the media library are different folders.
Nevertheless, they are listed as a single artist in the Symfonium library.
You need to add some music brainz ID to properly split them. Even if fake one if they don’t have but normalization will make then identical and is needed to reduce issues for the vast majority of users.
Do you mean the ID in the folder for the artist info?
In folder ArtisInfo i have created two folders with one file named artist.nfo.
The IDs are originally copied manually from MusicBrainz.
pls see Screenshots:
A lot of trial and error, testing and copying back and forth has messed things up.
I have now corrected the sorting method and the album artist. But the problem still exists.
Perhaps you could tell me in detail where the error is.
It is really crazy.
I have already sent you my log files.
Which I will do again after I have sent the post.
There are only 3 files to compare, and I can’t recognize any anomalies that would explain this strange display.
Summary:
There are three files, but two artists, with two MusicBrainz IDs. They are also only in two different folders in the file system. One folder with one file and the other folder with two files. Everything is normal everywhere.
Only the display in the Symfonium app always shows 3 different artists. (See the photos above)

The last two pics are from the two files of 16bit and should be listed under an artist. Unfortunately this is not the case.
As you can see, the Musicbrainz artist ID is identical, as are the artist tags. The files are also in the same folder.
holy shit. That was a fight.
I thought just a MusicBrainz Artist ID was enough after your initial responses.
Well ok, I admit “16bit” and “16 Bit” is quite a special case.
Nevertheless, I find it a bit worrisome that it is so dependent on MusicBrainz IDs for a correct display. If the MusicBrainz Service stops working, what then?
That’s just a rhetorical question. Don’t bother with the answer.
