Feature description:
My Library is hosted in Plex and I have quite a few album collections. These collections are exposed to Symfonium using Album tags and are not visible in the track tags.
I would like to be able to create a track smart playlist that uses the album tags of the album the track is in as a selection criterion.
Problem solved:
Let’s say I have collections for EDM Albums, Dubstep Albums, Club Albums. I would create a smart track playlist as follows:
Match All
Match Any
Album Tag is EDM Albums
Album Tag is Dubstep Albums
Album Tag is Club Albums
Album Style Contains Club/Dance
----
Track Rating is greater than 5
Artist is not Bass Nectar
Brought benefits:
Inheriting album tags into individual track information when building playlists allows lots of interesting playlist definitions that are not allowed under the current situation where album metadata is not able to be used as criteria for building track smart playlists.
Other application solutions:
Plex allows the use of Album Collection, Album Mood, Album Style and a number of other attributes belonging to the album and not the track in the creation of playlists. It also allows metadata about the artist to be used as well.
Additional description and context:
Besides allowing Album metadata to be used in selection, it would also be good to be able to use artist tags as well, but not sure if these are carried across into Symfonium?
