Crackling on Queue Change

App version

Issue description

Hi team,

I’m using Symfonium on a Fiio M33 R2R. I have trying out the inbuilt DSP (vs the Fiio DSP which I had been using).

I’ve noted that when I use DSP, changing queues results in crackling of the track for a (short - roughly 0.5s to 1s) time. This occurs with DSP settings:

PEQ → AutoEQ on, or
Android DSP → AutoEQ on

Both with “enable system equalizer” on or off (I actually don’t know what effect this has - but it’s default on, so I leave it on normally).

I’ve tried changing Equalizer block size in various increments all the way down to 512, but no change at all. Any suggestions?

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable DSP → Android → AutoEQ → Select a profile, or PEQ → AutoEQ on
  2. Play a track
  3. Change queue, start playing new queue - observe crackling for 0.5s to 1s

Provide a log with system EQ off and only PEQ enabled no Android DSP or related DSP enabled.

I actually haven’t been able to trigger this again on subsequent days. Perhaps this just happened to occur on the first day I happened to start using Symfonium DSP? Either way it seems we’re good. Thanks for the response!

Probably not as the Symfonium one can’t really do that. This kind of stuff is always the OS libraries issues. Maybe some settings were still active or the OS did not reset it’s state.
