Issue description:
I had a feeling for a few weeks now that my music sounded… different. I thought it sounded over-compressed, but I wasn’t certain. Maybe I was listening to a crappy remaster without realizing it.
Today, I confirmed that the audio is definitely being compressed to the wazoo. The track that really sealed the deal for me was “Come Out and Play” by the Offspring (Epitaph, 1994). The ambient reverb in the drum room is way too forward it the mix; it’s as loud as the actual drums. I’m streaming audio using Navidrome, and I believe I have my settings configured to stream in its original 320 kbps format without additional reverb or compression effects applied. I tested to see if the source audio was the problem by streaming from the Navidrome web client on my phone–no reverb problem there, so it must be caused by Symfonium, right? What I can’t figure is if it’s some sort of compression effect or data compression to accommodate a lower bitrate (contrary to how I have my settings configured). What’s going on, you think?
