"Completely random" option for continuous playback

Feature description:

Add an option for a truly random continuous playback (both for tracks and albums).

Problem solved:

Being locked to only random songs/albums in a certain genre is quite limiting as a way to listen to music.

Brought benefits:

Having a truly random continuous playback of songs/albums helps discover obscure albums in big music libraries.

Why not just use the shuffle or mixes in the respective sections to achieve that ?

Here’s another alternative for the randomness…

Smart playlists

Use Play Count =0

This will go through your entire library without respect to anything - artist, album, genre, etc.

After you play through your entire library, then use

Play Count 1
Not played since X

This should solve your problem.

The goal of the continuous playback is to continue playing music after the song/album you chose has finished. The shuffle/mixes options in different sections of Symfonium doesn’t enable you to choose the first song/album you want to hear.

If you want an example of how something similar is done in another app, look at Poweramp on Android. They have implemented advanced repeat and shuffle options which allows random continuous playback of songs, albums and even more categories. For that to happen, you start playing the song/album/etc you want to hear and then enable the “Advance category” option for repeat and the “Suffle just categories” option for shuffle. When the song/album/etc you chose in the first place finishes playing, Poweramp will play another random song/album/etc.

Here is a link to the page explaining those features on Poweramp’s Knowledge Base : Poweramp Knowledge Base - Repeat and Shuffle

There is an option for Random tracks: Settings - Interface - Home page scroll down there is “Random tracks”.
