Command Word to Open in Android Auto

Long time Plex Amp user, but switched to the paid version of Symfonium because of the many bugs in Plex Amp with Android Auto. Love the flexibility of Symfonium, and the ease of “fine-tuning” the setup to suit my mobile needs. The only thing I haven’t figured out, or seen in the documentation, is the Android Auto “command word” to open the app with voice. (My phone is a Galaxy S22+, running Android 16 and UI 8. My “default music player” is not assigned, and I am using Gemini as my assistant.) I also use SiriusXM, RadioTunes and TuneIN in the car.) When disconnected from the car, if I say “Open Symfonium” it works fine – but in the car, I get error response from Gemini.

I also can’t open Symfonium with voice commands with Google Assistant I tried “Open Symfonium“, “Open app Symfonium” and “Open Symfonium app”, but Google Assistant doesn’t understand the commands.

It basically can’t do what it should be able to do: “Enjoy your music on the go with advanced Android Auto support. Control your music playback, change playlists, and adjust the settings of your music player using voice commands, so you can keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.”

It’s almost as if it’s not how Android Auto voice commands works

Apps have no control over Android Auto, it will use the last active media player so just says play some music and it will start playback on Symfonium if it was the last player.

You can’t start Android auto apps via voice commands, and Gemini is well Gemini.
