Feature description:
I use D-Sub and other players on my phone, and you can turn them off and shut them down, so they’re not continuing to run on the device when you don’t want them running. I have scraped the forum looking for the word shut down or the phrase turn off, and I can’t find it.
The feature request is to be able to turn the application off. This could be done by backing out of the application or simply providing an exit in one of the menus.
It will be necessary on my Sony TV, because I don’t want additional applications running when they are not in use on the TV, and what I have to do with this one is force stop it. I don’t think that’s what you want. Should be easy enough to add an exit, or maybe I’ve just missed it and all of the menus? If I’ve missed it then it’s not obvious in it probably ought to be made so.
Problem solved:
Several problems. First having an app containing to run uses battery on the phone, and it uses CPU on the TV. Second, if I want to use a different app to play music I don’t want two apps trying to play music at the same time. It’s not an answer to say just pause this one. Or the other one.
Brought benefits:
The benefits are outlined above.
Other application solutions:
Dsub and musicColette. They’ve just added an exit or if you hit back another time they shut down. Exit would probably be better, if you want it to work on Smart TVs and run in the background. I just want to button the powers it off.
