Casting over Google home fails. The speaker acknowledges the connection, but then the app’s play button animation just spins and spins with no sound coming out of the speaker. Eventually, the error message “too many errors” pops up. The app won’t play music again until the cast source is switched back to “this device.”

Thanks, I found your logs. The speaker connects successfully, then fails while loading the music directly from your server. The server address looks like a VPN address, so I suspect the speaker cannot reach it. A speaker does not automatically share your phone’s VPN access.
Please enable Proxy via Symfonium in the settings for that cast target, then reconnect and try again with your phone and speaker on the same Wi-Fi. This lets the phone fetch the music and relay it to the speaker, at the cost of more battery use. Alternatively, use a server address the speaker can reach directly.
If it still fails with proxying enabled, please send me debug logs covering that complete attempt, along with the upload description and the time you reproduced it.
I’m casting to speakers that are part of my Google Home set up. I couldn’t find anywhere in the Home settings to enable “proxy via symfonium” neither in the Home app itself nor the individual speakers.
In the settings for Tailscale, I can grant access to it for specific apps. In that list, I have Symfonium allowed, but Home is greyed out.
Am I just out of luck here for casting to Google Home since it can’t be granted access to Tailscale?
