Cast to sonos stop after one song

Issue description:

Hello. Mostly want to cast my stuff to Sonos speakers.
This was working super fine some months ago.

Since a time (no clue when)

  1. start a song / playlist
  2. Start casting to a sonos speaker
  3. next song cannot played and the playback stuck

Switchback to local device works again.

What could be a solution for it?

Please better describe your issue, I do not see any error in those logs and some automatic track change.

I see that you disabled Gapless playback too any reason? It usually works well on SONOS.

Have uploaded a screen record.
This happen with any Sonos speaker for me.

  1. Playing music locally
  2. Switch to sonos
  3. Playback stop and no other song can started
  4. Switch back to local and playback work again

Please provide logs matching that video, and please answer about why you disabled gapless ?

There is no reason for disabling gapless. Tried different combinations to fix the issue. Should is activate it again?

Uploaded a new log file and video

Have you tried to reboot the device and see if it’s up to date ?

Can you be sure to restore default for the cast settings for that device.

Then stop playback. Select the device then play something.

All I could imagine here is some issue with communication between server and that device but that would be strange that it starts to play.

You can also try to enable (but after all the rest) the Proxy via Symfonium setting.

Lol restart of my smartphone helped. :joy:

If I would know that earlier …

Well the restart of the phone makes no sense, I was thinking about the sonos

If the phone helped then the Sonos app was bugging things behind the scene :frowning:

No surprise with Sonos. Sadly bought way too much equipment from them.

Wait are you casting to one speaker & then playing that through the whole home?

As long as you cast to the master Sonos speaker it’ll play through all the paired/grouped speakers.

I can only assume those would be Soundbars I know if the TV is playing you can send that audio from said TV everywhere else. Ive never tried casting audio to a speaker though. There used to be a way to play your library natively through the sonos app & then they got rid of it & my mom was fairly upset about it. My workaround was to basically use one of the TV’s like an AUX Cable but this is much easier.

I’ve had a pair of Play 1s for years, and if you stereo pair/group them in the Sonos app and play to the master speaker (the one you initiated the pair/group from in the Sonos app) from a UPnP capable control point they’ll play in sync.

There are restrictions on grouping different generations of speakers, but if Sonos can pair them then you can play to them via UPnP/Symfonium.
