I’m a new user of your app. For what it’s worth, I’ve looked thru the forums and help documentation concerning my problem but didn’t see anything relevant. I also uploaded logs from my phone.
Here’s my problem: When I connect my Pixel 8 bluetooth to my 2016 Toyota and play tracks either from a playlist or from an album, the toyota screen song data is not correct. For the playlist, the track number stays at a fixed number of 2. The artist and song info are on the same line in an odd order. The album cover art is not displayed. The track total time is fixed at 0:00 but the track elapsed time is correct. There are probably other related problems I haven’t noticed yet.
I’m attaching 3 pictures of my toyota display. 2 of the pictures are examples of the problem. The 3rd picture is from another music app (musicolet) that shows what I typically expect to see on the toyota screen.
Picture 1 = toyota_bluetooth_bad1.jpg which is an example of an improper track info/art/total time
Picture 2 = toyota_bluetooth_bad2.jpg which is the 2nd bad example of the same
Picture 3 = toyota_bluetooth_good.jpg which is what I would expect to see in the display. This was provided by the musicolet android app.
Mostly good news here … I just updated to 13.3.0 (127534) and most of the bluetooth meta data issues have been fixed. Many thanks! There are two pieces of data that still aren’t working. They are track number and album art. For track number, it always shows it as track number 2 regardless of the actual track number. What can I provide you that will help?
I provided a bluetooth bug report previously. That’s why I’m asking if there is anything else you need.
As for the queue position, I have over 20 songs in this one queue. For it to stay on 2 for each song doesn’t make sense that it’s a queue position thing. Maybe I’m not understanding what is meant by queue position.
While I don’t doubt there are car bugs, I’m having a tough time accepting that answer since 2 other music apps and 1 podcast app do not show this problem.
I want to do whatever I can to help and I’m very thankful that you are so responsive. You fixed the most major of the bluetooth issues and I really appreciate it.
There was no Android bug report just Symfonium logs.
And yes the queue is dynamic to avoid sending 5000 items that would crash.
Always previous item, current item (hum that’s position 2 right?) And 23 other items…
And most apps don’t publish the queue on BT because it causes problem.
So sorry that you don’t buy it but that’s how it works
Ho and the fixes in 13.3 are actually all queue related but also probably a coincidence.
So yes the car have issues with the queue and as said I’ll add an option to disable sending it.
I was wrong. What I thought was still a problem with the artwork isn’t a problem afterall. It’s basically behaving the way the other music apps behaved so I consider this a big win. Thanks again!
Would you mind explaining something for me? You mentioned something about queue position and creating a setting to disable it. I’m not sure if I’m understanding queue position since on my car’s screen it always shows as ‘track’ number 2. This happens no matter what song in the queue order is playing. If i have around 35 songs in a queue and song number 18 is playing, is there a way to display 18 as the track number on the bluetooth car display?
I’m sorry. I don’t understand what you mean by queue and having 100000 items.
Currently in the app, I have 8 media queues of songs I’ve been playing. Each queue has roughly 20 songs (or tracks). If i’m playing queue 5 (titled Beatles Abbey Road) and I’m on song 7 (‘Here Comes The Sun’), I would want the bluetooth track to show 7. Right now it always stays on 2 no matter what song is playing.
