Can't create a playlist or add to a playlist

Issue description:

Hi There.

I am using Koofr cloud service as well as my local storage on my device to access my mp3 music library. I purchased Symfonium last week and love all the options as well as the ability to add internet radio stations within the app. It seems to be the perfect all in one audio app…except for one BIG issue, which is…

I am having an issue creating a regular Playlist (not a smart playlist).

When I am playing a song that I want to add to a playlist or create a playlist, I click on the three vertical dots on the lower right hand corner of the screen. This brings up a sub menu that is titled “More Actions” which has the following options to choose from:

  • Skip all silences
  • Equalizer - DSP
  • Speed: 1x
  • Sleep timer
  • Offline cache and download
  • Share

From what I’ve seen online and heard from other users is that there should be a “Add to playlist” option in the menu, but for some reason, this is not an option for me.

I tried uninstalling the app and re-installing it, but that doesn’t seem to make a difference.

I installed one of your competitors apps (cloud beats) to see if the same issue persists with that app and it does not. I have the option the create and add to a playlist. I’m not really a fan of this app as it is pretty basic, unlike Symfonium, which is loaded with features and options, which is perfect for my needs.

Please Help!!

How can I create and add to Playlists in the Symfonium app?

Thanks for your help.

If there’s nothing present here it means that you are playing media from file mode and that those files are not scanned by the app.

Properly configure your provider and scan the media and the menus will be there.

Thanks for this.

I have a very large library of music, about 800gb, so I’m slowly adding them to my cloud service. I tried doing this scan which seemed to time out at 60,000, which also took over 24 hours.

So with saying that, if I was to add more songs to my cloud at some point, would I then again have to do a complete full scan of my entire library again, which would then be another 24-48 hour scan. Not really ideal, so I;m hoping not.

There’s cache of the scanned data.

Being that I have such a large music library, and after the app finishes scanning and storing this data in the cache, would then this fill up a lot of memory on my phone?

It will take some space yes, specially the cover cache, but not that much.

In all cases there’s limits near 100K songs that the app can scan from a single provider.

At some point you might want to consider a proper solution like navidrome or LMS.
