I would like the option to replicate Apple Music’s full screen now playing style or at least the option to replicate it’s blur overlay. I do understand that the app itself has a blur overlay for the controls and information section but it cuts off too sharp and doesn’t blend as well as the style used in apple music, and more importantly it doesn’t cover the system navigation buttons so it ends up looking awkward. It would also be nice to have the 3/4 zoomed in album art style so that the full screen now playing screen doesn’t cut off so much of an album’s cover art.
Problem solved
It would better refine the current implementation and make it more pleasant looking.

Screenshot 4 & 5 shows how Apple is able to achieve the 3/4 zoomed image style for their now playing screen (around the area the blur begins, the image gets mirrored) and a comparison with the final image.
I unfortunately do not know how to do that and I’ve tried all possible combinations in the past. I’d like a pointer in the right direction , but that isn’t the only issue, the top part cuts abruptly and does not “spread” at the top like the Apple Music one so it looks awkward too.
Status and Navigation Bar overlays are at the top, under General. Enable Blur for those and match the percent to what you are using for the other sections.
Don’t mind the non-blurred gaps, I had some margins on still.
I think this mostly comes down to the handling of the image. As you said, Apple mirrors the image just below the actual artwork. This means the colors always blend well, since it’s literally the same part of the image.
Whereas in Symfonium the background art will show a different portion of the art so the colors are often different, causing that “abrupt cut” that you see.
Even a simple “mirror image” toggle for our background wouldn’t quite match the former because the alignment is still different. Apple’s “background art” only begins at the bottom edge of that cover image. Whereas in Symfonium the background art always starts at the top of the screen, even if that section isn’t visible.
To fully clone Apple’s style, we would need two THREE things imo.
ability to vertically mirror the “background image”
ability to align the “background image” to the bottom of the Cover Artwork, rather than filling the entire screen
ramping blur radius. (Low blur at start of background, increase blur with distance from start)
The image thing was more of a longshot either way, I figured I’d ask since I’ve seen a lot of YouTube music clients make use of it recently but if it’s not possible I’d understand. I’m more concerned with the blur smear
Ah I think I see what you mean. We have a single Blur radius for the whole thing. They use a gradient blur–less blurred at the start, more blur as you move away.
Also @Tolriq my lazy brain has figured it out, however I doesn’t cover the page entirely if there’s a margin at the bottom, and also the smear/abrupt cut issue.
You can keep the spacing the same if you move that margin inside the Controls & Info panel. Meaning if the panel’s bottom margin is X, you want to make it zero and instead set your last String to have bottom margin of X.
Also switch off the “Card” style overlays if you don’t want the rounded corners.
I’ve been able to come up somewhat of a proof of concept using the album cover, however the disadvantages are that the overlay does not bleed over the cover art so it still doesn’t look as good. If a was could be found to have the blur cover the album cover too, it would at least solve that issue.
