The ability to exclude a song from future playing by enabling a feature under the three dots where the song can be blacklisted. With this feature a song does not have to be deleted from the album collection so the collection is intact. But the song will be skipped as an album is played. The feature can also have a setting to restore the song.
Problem solved:
This would enable the end user to keep his music collection complete and intact, without having to delete a song they personally do not enjoy.
Brought benefits:
I have seen this feature in Blackplayer and also others have requested this feature in the recent past. The option of âExclude from personal mixesâ does not work when playing a single album by itself. Below is a reference to the request from another end user.
Blackplayer EX has this feature. It used to one of the premium players until Symfonium came along as well as the former no longer apparently being supported.
Additional description and context:
Blackplayer EX is still available so a working model of the feature is available for hands-on evaluation and study. The picture below is just a sample.
Guess I am not finding the Use Hide from Library. I want to hide as you reference it an individual song. My music resides on my local NAS. I connect to it at home directly. I searched the Internet and did find this:
Hiding albums or artists (feature requests):
Some users have requested a feature to âhide from libraryâ for artists and albums, similar to how individual tracks can be hidden in iTunes. While this is not a built-in feature currently, it demonstrates the need for more granular control over library content, such as by blacklisting or hiding unwanted mashups or bonus tracks.
Your right it is there. Only after a half hour, I cannot find where there is. So you get to this menu options by going to the Library. I see Track Mix, Decade Mix, Queues, Album Mix, Internet radios and Library.
I assume I tap Library. Go to Albums, tap on an album and then three dots. I see Go to Rod Stewart, Genius Search, Add to Favorites, etc. Hide from Library is not there. So obviously I ainât looking in the right place.
All I can say is this thread may help someone else who apparently is clueless like me in this instance.
It appears from this thread, that the location of the music makes a difference whether that option is available or not. I mentioned earlier that my music was on my NAS (Unraid).
If location makes a difference, it would be nice to understand why and if the option could not be tweaked to work no matter the location of the music.
NAS is not a connection type When you add a connection you select in a list.
The option is here for cases scanned by Symfonium and not when connected to a media provider like Jellyfin as itâs then the server responsibility to manage that.
Thank you. I would have thought files downloaded to my phone would have that option to Hide from Library. But I am not seeing that.
On that thread, another person wrote they had been looking at length for the same thing. So the distinction is where the files reside? What would be acceptable locations or connections and Iâll try to pass that information along? So Jellyfin or Emby which do not have that option to blacklist a song, need to add that functionality? I can write them for that improvement.
The files are not downloaded as independent from the source server they are offline cached.
The source of the file list is the media provider you connect to. It does provide the list of media, and if it provide the list of media then itâs supposed to be media you want in your library.
When Symfonium is responsible for the library then it offers the option. (Exactly as Black Player from your reddit comment but you are connecting to Emby (Would have been best to tell) and well Black Player does not support that )
Your right, I did not think of that until the other thread where Jellyfin was mentioned. I did figure out a work-around at least for Emby and posted it on that thread above. Do we have a known list of what âconnectionsâ do have that Hide feature? Others may opt to use those solutions. Onedrive apparently works, others?
Thank you for your feedback. As others have stated, you have always been very responsive.
