Beta Version has expired?

Oh I’m an idiot, didn’t see the first link. Thanks!

Wouldn’t this method bring conflicts with the PlayStore version’s license, considering I’m installing an outside apk over the PlayStore version?

In case any of you weren’t following the other thread.

New to symfonium. Tried it for a week and loved it so I bought it. Running grapheneos so I loaded from arora. I have the same beta expiration problem but I am confused about the solution. I had no idea I was on a beta version. Will arora be updated at some point and then I can update and it works again? How can this be prevented in the future?

From what I read, Aurora app store shouldn’t have access to the Beta versions unless the Google account being used is signed up for that. (I don’t use Aurora so I can’t check if that’s true.)

You can sign in at the following link to check your Beta status, and to leave the Beta if you are somehow enrolled: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.symfonik.music.player

If you are not in the Beta program, then you should only be able to download app version 14.1.0. You can check the version number in your phone’s settings. Anything higher than 14.1.0 is a Beta.

They seem to pull from the Play Store so yes, it will have an update once the Play Store version does. The new version will work again. Only Google knows when the new version will be available.

I am not logged into aurora store or google play and I don’t have a google account! My installed version is 14.1.1(127736)

I installed from Aurora store on grapheneOS and the version it defaults to download is 14.1.1(127736) which has the beta problem. I found a previous version code of 127734 and manually installed that from aurora and it works again. But I had to start setting up the app again. It did seem to keep my paid license status though. Posting this here as well in case that helps someone get up and running.

Thanks for that repo Tolriq!

Guys, just use Obtanium instead of Aurora as much as you can. Paste Tolriq’s repo into it. Google is the worst

Same issue here. Using playstore

Same issue with Play Store. I’ve left the beta channel, but the app didn’t downgrade itself to the stable release, so I can’t use it anymore

Read the thread ? Get the updated apk…

Is Beta v15 still coming or has it been delayed?

That hint with optanium was gold. Thanks for that @Kessler and @Tolriq for the repo. Symfonium works again :+1:

Don’t know, ask the Google Play team…

I think they beat the previous record for the longest time for an Approval.

OK. I wont ask what the previous record was…

Is the v15 out? As some people are making threads for the v15 bugs

It’s not out. All the current bug threads are for version 14.1.1 or 14.1.2

Thanks Tolriq for the repo, fantastic! Now I just need an external purchase option and ownership checks, and I can remove my dependency on the Play Store.

Much gratitude

External purchase option is already available.
What do you mean with ownership checks? I guess there isn’t a “Oh no, Google Play License check failed” when you use a license tied to a Ko-Fi donation.

I’ve seen that, and because of dev’s comment –

this is way too much time consuming for me as everything is very manual :frowning:

-- I elected not to count it as a viable option. Thanks though!

And yeah, in case there’s a DRM lock on the app
