Auto-Scroll Queue in Android Auto: Keep Current and Upcoming Tracks in View

Feature description:

I’m aware of previous feature requests that were denied as duplicates (like “Now Playing Queue Track Playing Stay Focused”, When shown in Now Playing, scroll Queue to show current track - #7 by ChrisW), and the reasoning around user-initiated scrolling or existing “return to now playing” buttons.

However, this request is specific to Android Auto, where:

There is no button to quickly scroll back to the currently playing track.

Manual scrolling or pressing a button is inconvenient and unsafe, especially while driving.

The queue becomes frozen in time, showing outdated songs that have already played, instead of the next few tracks.

Unlike Android TV, there’s no easy workaround, a workaround to the button could just be an option in settings where I can make it so once a song has played, it gets deleted from the queue.

Problem solved:

On Android Auto, after a few tracks play, the Now Playing queue is no longer useful—it’s filled with history, not the future.

Currently, there is no way to quickly return focus to what’s playing.

Upcoming tracks can’t be seen or managed without distracting interaction.

Brought benefits:

Improved Safety While Driving
Reduces the need for manual scrolling or interaction with the screen.
Lets users glance at the queue without distractions, minimizing risk while driving.
Better Awareness of Upcoming Tracks
Keeps the next few songs in view at all times.
Keeps the UI relevant and reflective of what’s actually playing.
Consistency With Other Music Players
Helps Symfonium feel more modern and in line with user expectations.
No impact on users who prefer scrolling manually—especially if implemented as an optional setting.
Unlike Android TV and the mobile app (which has a jump-to-current button), Android Auto doesn’t.
