The ability for the app to just play the next album in sequential order instead of a random one. If it reaches the end of a folder or artist selection of albums a sub option can be set to stop playback or just keep playing things sequentially.
Problem solved:
Right now continuous playback options are a totally random song or a random album instead of just whatever is next which is very jarring if you have a large music collection. I don’t want to jump from my Fleshgod Apocalypse to my partner’s Dead Can Dance.
It also solves a second problem where the current random playback can jump from local to a still detected remote server which can be an issue if you aren’t in a spot with wifi or great reception.
Brought benefits:
Other popular apps have this as a default playback option so it seems weird this one doesn’t.
It provides a much less jarring continuous option without needing to resort to clunky solutions.
I exclusively use folder mode to browse and play music. While I do use MusicBrainz Picard to keep my tags and stuff sorted, I just really prefer going by my own folders cause I’ve always found other options way too fiddly. Anyway, by sequential I mean like in the example screenshot if I play King in something like Plexamp then once King is done it’ll play Labyrinth next. Poweramp will do the same thing. Once the Fleshgod Apocalypse stuff is done then the player would either then stop or play whatever the next folder of music would be (in my case that’d be Ghost - Ceremony and Devotion)
I believe the request is asking for something similar like Plexamp. So instead of playing a random track from the existing genre, you get an option to play either an earlier or later album
