This artist seems to appear on a number of albums where this artist is definitely not listed

This is again your bad usage of tags and splits that generate fake artists that are merged as no usable names.
In theory with 11.4.0 if you fully clear tag cache and sync again there should not be a merge for that artist, but itβs hard to know.
Can confirm the cache clear & re-sync has cleared the issue.
In my defense I didnβt chose the characters for this artistβs name. Just thought it might be cool to retain his artistic choice if my player allowed it.
Not talking about that one, but all your Β² strange E/I other non standard stuff 
Those will still be merged in some cases.
yeah that was the only way I could think of getting around not having explicit tags. With the new update though i can have "Β²π
΄ " as the delimiter for
βΒ²π
΄ Artist 1 & Artist 2β thereβs no added βartistβ named Β² & the app still reads the listed artists as expected
