Hi,
So I recently got Symfonium, and I really love the UI. But, it’s a it picky, but the app doesn’t really close when well I close the app. When I pause a song and close the app, I find that it still is running in the background and also remains in the notification panel. Is there any way to stop the player when I close the app?
Also, on a separate note, how is the battery drain compared to (e.g.) stock music player?

Reproduction steps:
Pause song. Close app. Song notification still remains. Background activity not stopped.
Probably because of the dozens of messages that says they are mandatory and I can’t answer without them ?
Anyway this is Android, you don’t close apps, if you pause, then it’s normal that you can press play to resume. If you want to stop playback you need to stop playback by long pressing play pause button or adding a stop button to now playing screens.
I’m not sure I understand. When, for example, I pause music in another music app and close it, the app does not run in the background. But symfonium does. Is there no button that makes it not run in the background as such? I’ll also try to upload logs as soon as I can
You don’t close apps on Android, just the activity. The app is killed when the OS decides to.
You probably are on Android 15+ and thanks to Google see stupid bugs and choices the app stay foreground for some time after pausing to allow resuming.
And yet, we all remain with android lol. I like some of the benefits it gives compared to Apple so . I like both though. Also, I am using the latest Android, and am on Samsung (if it makes a difference - I am aware you don’t have it from a previous forum - yes I’ve been looking ) Anyway, I have exported the logs but not sure how to give it… And also, this is also exactly what I want, I want to stop the activity when app is closed.
PLEASE MIND, I’M NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE!!! I’d like to give an example. In Samsung Music, when music is paused, notification is still there and background service is running. When app is closed, these go away too. I’d like to achieve a similar thing here. In Poweramp, I was facing what I want to address right now, and there was a button that stopped activity when song is paused. So, well, I’m repeating myself because I don’t know how else to say this💀 Is there a way to stop activity once I close the app? If there isn’t it’s fine, but I just would like to know if the background activity can be stopped right away when I pause the music. ALSO THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK REPLIES, OTHER DEVELOPERS TAKE AGES TO REPLY😭
You are again mixing everything the activity is finished, what can be left over is the services and the process.
On Android 15+ after pause they stay active a little long to allow resuming of the playback via headsets.
If you swipe the media session it will go away as all other apps.
What you may face is Samsung restarting the app later and you need to check the option disable media session restoration for that as you could have found too
For the logs when opening the issue it explains everything as would a simple search
Anyway no need for them since you have confirmed you have Samsung. Just read again this answer if you have more questions.
