Feature description
I suggest adding a toggle that enables animated artwork to scale edge-to-edge for a full-screen immersive experience on both the Now Playing and Album screens, while intelligently maintaining the traditional square format for static images to prevent awkward cropping.
Problem solved
Currently, when using animated artwork, the player often confines the animation to a standard 1:1 square container.
Art Clipping: Many animated covers are designed with specific framing that looks awkward when cropped.
Wasted Screen Real Estate: On modern tall displays, the square format leaves significant empty space, detracting from the visual experience.
Brought benefits
“Implementing edge-to-edge animated artwork will provide a more immersive and modern visual experience by utilizing the device’s full display.”
Other application solutions
I’ve been loving how Symfonium handles animated artwork! I’d love to suggest an optional “Immersive Mode” for the Now Playing screen. Currently, animated covers are contained within a 1:1 square, which can sometimes cut off the best parts of the animation. It would be amazing to have a toggle that allows the artwork to scale edge-to-edge (full screen) behind the playback controls.

Additional description and context
This would be an amazing option to have. So if you have album art that’s only static, it stays in a traditional square but having the option to enable if it’s animated artwork if detected it full screens to show the animated artwork for album page and extended player ![]()
