Android Auto: Tabbed search results

Feature description:

Currently, to get to an artist’s page there are (at least) two ways:
1- Library > Album Artists > [Scroll down to artist and click]
2- Using the search function

Option #1 takes a lot of time with large libraries as I often need to scroll a lot. It is also very distracting.
Option #2 would be ideal. However, the search results first list "Songs’ and I need to scroll all the way down to get to “Artists” or “Albums”. This, again, tends to take time in large libraries and gets distracting very quickly.

My request is to have the search results grouped in tabs: [Songs] [Artists] [Albums] (order can be different). This will allow us to directly go to “Album” search results if what we are searching for is an album, without the need to scroll too much.

It was mentioned that we should use voice commands in Android Auto. However, Google’s support for some languages is very poor and is especially problematic when mixing languages. I speak and have a library in: English, Arabic, Spanish and Italian. So voice commands just don’t work in my case.

Problem solved:

Be able to quickly find what I want to play with the minimal amount of clicks and scrolls while I am stopped at a traffic light or parked.

Brought benefits:

Be able to quickly find what we are searching for in Android Auto without needing to scroll a lot. Google voice commands does not work very well for every one. This feature would overcome some of the shortcoming of voice commands.

As explained in nearly all AA posts, apps have nearly 0 controls over the interface.

And that’s the case here, all I can return is a list of items with an header for grouping.

That’s a shame. I use Symfonium with Android Auto almost exclusively. I wish Google would give AA apps some love.
