Android Auto Stay on Now Playing

Feature description:

In Android Auto, when I select a new song on my phone, my car screen automatically goes to the “Recent Albums” screen instead of staying on the “Now Playing” screen

Problem solved:

I’d much rather see the song I’m listening to or at least stay on the current screen when selecting a new song. This way, I can see the progress bar and rewind/fast forward if necessary. It’s just nicer to view the selected track on the screen after choosing it.

Brought benefits:

It stays on the screen the user selected rather than moving them to their library after already selecting a song.

Other application solutions:

This is the only music app I’ve ever used that backs out of the Now Playing screen after selecting a song.

You are not supposed to use the phone when using Android Auto

Anyway apps have 0 control over what happens in AA. Symfonium always properly stops playback before starting the next one for proper resume point / playcount handling and a couple of other cases.

So there’s really no way to change this? I hope this doesn’t come off as disrespectful, I’m just curious about it. It’s odd that this is the only music app I’ve used that does this, but there’s no way to change what causes it.

No there’s no solution as I have 0 control over Android Auto behavior. And the way Symfonium works can not be changed. (Multi provider, multiple queues, …)
