When using Android Auto and viewing albums from artists, the albums are sorted alphabetical. I would prefer sorting by year. Most music player sort them by year and also I like to quickly find the newest album from an artist
The problem with that, is that Android Auto can show a keyboard to go to letters when there’s many entries and that does not works well with year sorting.
With that said I don’t know if there’s many artists with enough albums to trigger that AA behavior. So it might worth the change.

I’d like to support that request. I was using Poweramp before switching to Symfonium recently. In Poweramp, Albums are sorted by year in Android Auto. I am completely used to that sorting and also have this sorting in the app itself. Always confused when trying to find an album on android auto now.
So you actually want the opposite of that request that was already implemented ?
If so open a new feature request to make this configurable.

This issue is about albums inside artists and they are sorted like that.
The global list can’t be sorted as explained due to letter split.
I am talking about albums inside artists too. In Android Auto, they are sorted by alphabet, not by year.
For the global list, I am fine with alphabet.
Then open an issue with logs and details, since as you can see it’s said it’s implemented.
i don’t know what it was, but after changing to another display-style (and switching back) albums now get sorted by year, as expected. cannot reproduce it anymore.
