Sometimes when I get in my car and Android Auto resumes playback, it’ll skip 1-10 seconds of the song every 5-10 seconds.
This usually fixes itself by just opening Symfonium, but other times I need to pause the music, force close Symfonium, and then open it again.
Turning Android Auto off and on in my car usually also solves the problem.
I have no idea if this is actually a Symfonium issue, I assume it’s just Android Auto being weird. But it only happens with Symfonium.
I am on Android 16 QPR1 beta right now, but the issue has existed since I was on Android 15 stable.
Yeah it skips, maybe a 0.01s pause in audio, then it skips a random amount of seconds ahead.
It reminds me of playing back broken video files in VLC where it skips over broken parts of the file.
Battery optimization is disabled, and it is really random when this happens..
So if anyone stumbles upon this, here is the problem and solution:
This was a connection issue on both my Android Auto devices, where for some reason the wifi connection from the device to my phone was acting up.
Manually adding the wifi network created by my AA devices to my phone solved the issue completely. Verified by removing the saved networks which caused the issue to return.
Thankfully both my devices allowed me to find the password used for the wifi network they create, this is probably not the case for all AA devices.
