When I go to “recently added albums” or “recently played albums”, select a new album and press Play it starts playing the first song in the album. That is exactly what I expect.
On Android Auto though, if I do the same it seems to be resuming from whatever song I might have stopped listening that album on. Furthermore, if I click on an album that I have completed listening to before, it resumes playing the last song from somewhere in the middle.
Of course if I exit the car and come back later on, I want the current album to resume playing, but if I am selecting a brand new album there is no need to resume playing it from the middle. It should start from the beginning like in non-android auto mode.
Am I missing a setting somewhere or is it a bug?

I have uploaded the logs yesterday (18/07/2024) somewhere around 7pm UK time. I have first played the album on the phone to demonstrate the correct behaviour, then connected my phone to the car and selected a few albums there to demonstrate the incorrect behaviour.
If my description of the problem is not clear enough please let me know and I will record a video.
Reproduction steps:
Connect the phone to the car
On car’s head unit, navigate to recently played
Select an album you have listened to in the past
4a. If you have completed that album before, it will start playing from the middle of the last song.
4b. If you have not completed that album, it will resume from where you last stopped listeing to it even if you have listened to a different album in the meantime.
As you can see, every time the album ends I want to play it from the start again but it resumes at a random moment of the last song. I have uploaded the logs today captured during recording of this video.
Apologies for poor quality, I have a very short usb cable in the car and this is as high as I was able to keep my phone without disconnecting it. Also apologies for late response, I’ve been quite busy in recent days.
Ok so now the songs are properly marked as played, for now you need to fully play all the songs too so that’s they are marked played without a resume point.
Will add a workaround in next release to properly remove the album resume point if there’s older resume point leftover.
Ok, the album playing from the middle of last song is now fixed, thank you.
As for the other issue of inconsistency in album resuming between phone and android auto, I will try to document it better to show you what I mean and create a separate bug report for it.
There’s no need to document, the behavior is normal and wanted.
If you play from recently played then it resume on AA as there’s need to have a default action.
On the phone when you open the album you have play and resume and can choose.
