Android Auto - erroneous message for new user

Issue description:

The issue happened one time and is not repeatable (for me), but I believe the situation will repeat.

I connected my Android phone to a loaner car over Android Auto. I do not usually use Android Auto at all.

For that matter I hadn’t used Symfonium in some time either. I launched it to avoid the default music player.

On my car screen I got a message to the effect “Symfonium is paid software - you need to buy a license”, and backed out of the menu.

On my phone, I got a message to the effect “Symfonium has been updated - here’s the changelog”. As soon as I clicked “Ok”, and went back to the car, the app loaded as it should.

With regrets, I cannot duplicate this as I no longer have the car.

Reproduction steps:

What I believe is needed:

  • Android Auto.
  • Symfonium app recently updated but never yet opened on the phone
  • Connect to Android Auto, try to open the app
  • An erroneous message is displayed, “symfonium needs a license” instead of “you need to click through to accept the changelog”

Yes this is a special rare cases, needed for the dumb Google Android Auto review team …
I can’t properly detect some cases so to avoid random false rejections, it fallback to that.

One day they will have people with brains doing the reviews.
