All personal favourites suddenly gone

Issue description:

All songs that I had marked :heart: as favorites are suddenly not marked anymore, all my ‘likes’ are deleted it seems.
Sadly I do not know when exactly this happened, I only realised they were promptly gone.
Timewise it could have happened

  • after updating to Version 11.1.0
  • after a phone restart (which also always resets my ‘last played’ albums, that doesn’t really bother me though)

I tested theory 2 by adding some songs to my favourites again and restarting my phone, no problems there though, the songs stayed as favorites.

Both your logs are empty, logs need to reproduce the issue :wink:

The only possible explanation is that you added the local provider via Media Store and that your phone reseted it’s internal IDs.

This is not the recommended mode at all for Symfonium, you should use SAF mode.

Thank you for looking into my problem!
I don’t fully understand what you mean though :confused: I added my local provider (SD card) through the appropriate steps in the app.

When I go into the advanced settings of my media provider it says “Scanner mode - Symfonium (files - SAF)” and that this setting cannot be changed to prevent accidental data loss.

It couldn’t have anything to do with the “consider tag ratings as user ratings” setting
right?
Was just an idea of me but I don’t know much about it.

As said your logs are empty so I can’t tell anything.

Enable logs, play some media to have last played. Reboot the phone and verify the last played them upload logs.

Sorry, I didn’t know I had do enable logs.
But I did now (already uploaded) and I was able to reproduce both of my issues! :slight_smile:

  • My favourites (songs and artists) were gone again after restarting my phone and Symfonium automatically doing a resync

  • the player still sometimes switching to first song in queue (my other opened issue thread)

Provide new simple logs that only reproduce the second issue and post in the second issue.

For this one I quickly looked and your device starts Symfonium on reboot before the SDcard is mounted and for unknown reason does not return an error when asking for the sdcard content but just return an empty list.

I’ll need to add a security for that, but until then you need to disable the auto sync you enabled on the provider and only sync when you know the SDCard is properly mounted and visible to the apps.

A feature like that would be much appreciated! I’ll gladly use the workaround for now though, thanks. I only use local files anyways so I don’t need to sync very often.
