Feature description:
An option to have Track Tags or other information of the like on the now playing screen.
I think the design of the filter chips would be a perfect template to use for this. (See Image)
Problem solved:
Currently there is no way for users to navigate to certain tags like Artist Tags, Track Tags or from the now playing screen directly. Currently we can view some of this information from the details page & interact with some of those tags from the album view.
Brought benefits:
- Enable quicker navigation to similar media within ones library.
- Allows users to display more / varied info on their customizable now playing screens.

Additional description and context:
You’ll have to excuse my crude mockup but just under the title and artist I’ve added a few “chips” that serve as Tags for this track. Similar to the filter chips we have now this could be an element that the user can scroll if there are multiple tags to list EX: multiple track Moods or Track Tags attributed to any given track.
Once the user sets the margins as they do for the many other elements of the now playing screen the chips would disappear when scrolled left / right off screen & cycle through appearing again on the opposing side as the user scrolls.
This would allow for users to not only visually see these tags immediately but even navigate to other similar tracks or albums with those tags. In this instance maybe I’d opt to see other tracks with the Violin tag as that is the sound profile I’d like to indulge in at this time.
I could see this being applicable for, but not limited to:
LANGUAGE
MOOD
TRACK_TAGS
ARTISTS_TAGS
ALBUM_ARTISTS_TAGS
COMPOSER_TAGS
Additionally you could add a simple option that just displays any of the tags listed above as standard text. When clicked they pull up a menu similar to what you would see when tapping an artist field with multiple artists. (If it ain’t broke don’t fix it)
I do like the idea of being able to tap straight to the desired tag, but if there are multiple & you need to scroll to get to the desired tag you aren’t saving much time / effort.
