Currently I can see user ratings in the playlist view against the media but I can’t see it anywhere on the current playing media, it doesn’t seem to be in the more options section for current media either.
So currently to set a user rating I have to click on the playlist view for current playing music, then go to more options for it in the playlist view to set the rating.
It would be nice to just have the ability to show 5 stars somewhere on the current playing song interface somewhere and let you possibly edit it without going via the more options.
Problem solved:
It reduces the amount of menu hopping needed to view/edit the current playing user rating.
Brought benefits:
It makes it easier to set the user ratings for the current playing media.
Other application solutions:
I used to use Player Pro and this just showed 5 stars you could click on to set the rating, this was available on both widget and in app view.
Sorry to be an idiot but I’ve looked all over the app for an option like this and can’t find it anywhere do you have a screenshot or explicitly where I find the option?
As I can’t find it in interface options, nor on playback or in the more options in the playing song.

Thank you for creating this post because otherwise I would have been the one to do it lol. I was missing a quick way to change user rating (best thing of hosting my own music, I’ve been losing ratings from random players for years!). @grofit will it also show up in the Android Auto screen?
As it looks from the filters in smart playlist, today there seem to be 2 type of rating:
rating
user rating.
The now playing overlay seems to add a rating. But only user rating is synchronizing with servers leveraging the subsonic API, which is Navidrome in my case. This means in my case the ratings in now playing are pointless.
I can imagine there a good reason now playing screen is as it is. So perhaps, the easy fix would be to add user rating to the more menu of the now playing screen, the way it is everywhere else.
I mostly use rating to add 1 star, as an oposite to favorite. But it’d be nice to be able to do it in this fantastic app too.
I haven’t found the app on github… there’s no forum for issues as far as i can tell.
don’t mean to upset you. Ratings synchronise on the server when i do them from the tree dots in a listing, not when i do them on the now playing screen. Link me to where you want me to report it and i will.
