Add more display options for "Original Release Date"

Feature description:

I would love the option to display original release dates for albums across the whole app.

Problem solved:

Right now there is only the option to sort albums by original release date. I would like to be able to display those dates in album/artist views. As well as the “now playing” screens.

Brought benefits:

Takes full use of provided metadata. And gives a more accurate depiction of a song than what year that edution of the album happened to come out.

Why not directly put in the tags the value that you want to see?

I don’t think it makes sense in the now playing.

But I can probably auto switch in the list when they are sorted by that field.

Because the original release dates are all auto grabbed when getting the metadata from mbz. So the info is already there for symfonium to display instead of creating tags for all of the albums.

Personally i think it makes more sense to display original dates in the Now Playing screen over the most recent release date.

For example, if I’m going to play “The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black” I’d think it’s more helpful to see it was originally released in 1966. Instead of seeing it’s from a cd that came out in 2003.

You can automate the tags as you want too in most tools :wink:

For covers or classical or quite a few other cases, it’s more logical to show the actual recording date than the original date.

Wait, what do you mean by recording date? Because symfonium definitely isn’t showing the recording date.
