Add a feature for the home page to display daily or weekly mix playlists.
These playlists contain songs you have listened to recently as well as other songs by those artists and new songs of the same genre. It’s a great way of discovering, rediscovering and enjoying your music and it’s one of the things I used the most on Spotify.
Problem solved:
Currently there is the instant mix button or the smart flow but there are no automatically generated playlists that you can just open, listen to then save if you enjoy it.
Brought benefits:
It brings a new way of listening to your music and a much more enjoyable and user friendly experience.
Other application solutions:
Spotify and similar apps generate personalised playlists from what you’ve been listening to recently as well as sprinkling in similar genres or artists.
Spotify collects data from millions of users. The company therefore knows who has listened to the same music as you and what music these users also listen to.
Symfony, on the other hand, does not collect any data or save playlists and favorite songs of other users and therefore cannot make any comparisons or assumptions about what you might like.
But there is one option. You can create your own smart playlists and combine or exclude various factors, for example: last listened, highly rated, often skipped, recently added, genre etc. It’s all a bit more complex, but it’s individual.
Perhaps there will be a thread here in which users present their smart playlists.
You don’t really need the metadata of other users though to implement this sort of thing. Sure it probably helps but synfonium does have access to your metadata. What you’ve listened to, how many listens, favourites, genre etc. It could still do this for some randomized playlists along the lines of what you listen to per day.
I do have a question about the smart playlists though, when you create them is that it like the songs dont change or can you have it set so it changes the content of the playlists when the songs no longer fit the criteria etc.
Continuous adaptation (change) is ultimately the purpose of a Smart Playlist.
For example, if you set:
“Songs I’ve listened to in the last two days”
the playlist will be empty after three days if you haven’t listened to any music.
If you set:
“Songs I haven’t listened to in the last 14 days”
the playlist will change every day.
You can combine this wildly with genre etc. as you like.
Just try to be creative.
ahh okay I’ll give it a shot, I had a little look but didn’t realise it worked like that!
I guess my feature request is sort of pre-made smart playlists that are generated based on recent listening habits and displayed in a dedicated section on the home page. Like a “for you” playlist tab
These were exemplary and fictitious descriptions of setting options, which only served as an explanation. You must of course set the corresponding Smart Filters correctly for your Smart Playlists to work.
If you have a problem with Smart Playlists, please send a support request or someone may be able to help you in the general chat. A screenshot of your settings will be helpful.
